Guernsey Rangers

Guernsey Rangers were formed in October 1893.   The 5th Battalion of the Royal  Fuselliers  were based at Fort George and managed to get two teams together.  The first time a football game was between the Army 1st team and Rangers on 5th October 1893 The Army won 4-1. This continued between the 3 teams until February 1894 and on that date the Army and Rangers decided at a meeting to form the GFA.  They also decided to play for a Cup which several members donated money towards.  As the person who put the most in was Jurat  Priaulx they named it the Priaulx Cup.  After that other teams started to join and it all went on from there.   Now with Rangers has a thriving minis and youth section as well as 4 Senior teams.

We have won the Priaulx Cup many times as well as the Upton cup against the Jersey League champions.

Guernsey Rangers takes our players to the max! Darren Ogier

Club President, Priaulx Manager

Darren first joined Rangers as an 11 year old defender. He has played at every level for the club. He has coached at every level with the club as well as the Island Ladies Manager in 2003-2006, In 1998 he became the youngest Priaulx coach in history at that time, when he took over the team from Craig Allen.
In 2008 Darren took over the reception and year 1 teams at minis and has now followed that team through until this season. In the past 12 years he has seen his team through many successes with the Corbet cup shield, Lewis Laine Shield in back to back years the Le Vallee cup the Walley Chick Memorial cup and the Weymouth sixes champions for 2015. With 4 games to go they were also just 1 point away from the 2020/21 u16 champsions before Covid 19 ending their hopes of  the league championship.

Darren has now returned to the role as Priaulx manager for the 20/21 season. And will be looking to use a number of younger plauers that he has seen develop during his time as minis and youth coach.
